The roots of Leisure Kingdom date back to 1963 when Don Amott senior founded the company. Don Amott junior came into the business on leaving school in 1965 and took over the reins when his father died in 1975.

The business quickly grew to become one of the UKs leading leisure companies.
In October 2006, due to sporting commitments and other business responsibilities, Don Amott sold his interest in the company to Tony Weavers, who became Managing Director, and Paul Coxon, Financial Director. Tony had been with the business since leaving college in 1969 but sadly passed away in June 2009 after a short illness.
Following this tragic blow to the company, principal shareholder, Don Amott, returned to oversee the restructure of the management team.

Three new board members were appointed to join existing Financial Director, Paul Coxon.

The team was made up of long serving personnel from its current management team who who have each been with the company for well over 20 years. They are Richard Mortimer from Hilton who become Sales Director, John Broderick from Oakwood who took on the role of Managing Director and Brian Winfield of Draycott-in-the Clay, Staffordshire, who was been appointed Workshop Director.

The business still operates with a wealth of experience staff, many of whom have been with the firm for more than 25 years. The sales team alone has notched-up over 200 years experience between them.
