Our Jingle
Let’s play sing the tune to these lyrics:
‘Don Amott, King of Caravans. The price is right and the choice is yours’
Chances are that, if you watched TV in the early eighties, you won’t have a problem. The jingle was written for the Don Amott TV commercials which starred our cartoon character Oscar the Lion. The ads were particularly popular with children, many of whom are now in their thirties and include the ditty in their happy childhood memories along with The Muppets Show and Masters of the Universe themes.
Due to popular demand Oscar has now made a come-back and the old commercials have been featured on the TV show Room 101 and were ranked 40 in an online review of the top 100 commercials of yesteryear. The catchy jungle jingle has even been included in a club mix by a top London DJ at the Ministry of Sound.
